Giving Time and Talents

Stewardship at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church is a year-round opportunity.  There are three dimensions to stewardship at our church:  financial support, time, and talent.  Picture a tree (St. Alban’s) planted in well-fertilized soil (financial support).  A tree needs more than soil; it also needs sunlight and rain (time and talent) to grow.  We truly believe that our parish can do an even better job of spreading God’s grace to the world if we all exercise stewardship year round, using a three dimensional approach.  At  St. Alban’s you can contribute your time and/or talent in the following ways:

 Think about this...

In the midst of the Annual Stewardship Pledge Drive, a family, let’s call them Frank and Joan, have prayerfully considered what their pledge to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church would be.  After deciding upon a modest financial pledge, Frank, a middle school teacher, thought about what additional gifts he could contribute to the church in the form of his time and talent.  He thought he could be a Sunday school teacher (talent).  Joan, an engineer, decided to volunteer her musical talents to join the choir (talent, again).  Together, they thought they could volunteer to help the Order of the Green Thumb (time).  So, as a consequence of Frank and Joan’s consideration of a three dimensional approach to pledging, they are supporting the parish throughout the year.

If we all were to look upon pledging as Frank and Joan have, how much more of God’s work can we do?  We invite you to surprise yourself in all three areas of pledging this year, and help make 2010 a banner year for St. Alban’s Episcopal Church’s ministries to the community and the world.

Please feel free to join us on Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm for potluck.  At 6:30pm we have adult education, adult and children choir practice as well.  "Come and see..."

Come and join us for coffee, food and conversation between our 9:00 am and 10:45 am services.

Wow! Have you found us at an exciting time!

We have a Healing service every Saturday at 5:00pm with full communion. Additionally we have three opportunities for worship on Sunday morning. Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper is served at all three- The 7:30 am service is Rite I, no music. 9:00 am is Rite II, with contempary music, and the 10:45 am service has modern music and a more informal style.

If you have young children, bring them at 6:00pm Wednesday evening to practice singing for the children's  service held each month.  Professional nursery care is provided from 8:45 am until Noon. Also, Sunday School is available at 10:30 am each Sunday morning for 3 years old and up...

We look forward to seeing you!
